Donors Stepping Forward To Send More Students Toward High-Need Careers
With millions of dollars in scholarships going to students entering high-need career fields, South Dakota leaders are asking people to consider giving more.
Each of South Dakota's tech schools receives $1 million to offer full scholarships to students pursuing careers in high need fields. However, that money only meets a fraction of the need.
Speaking to Lake Area Tech supporters Tuesday, Governor Dennis Daugaard said the need is great: the need to fill jobs and help current students get ready for those jobs.
