Build Dakota Scholarship Working To Educate The State’s Next Workforce
YANKTON, S.D. — Representatives from Build Dakota Scholarships presented to Yankton High School students, parents and counselors who are interested in getting involved in the program. The presentation also included local Yankton employers who were interested in the Build Dakota Scholarship Program.
The representatives presented on the idea behind the creation of the Build Dakota Scholarship Program and that in the first two years, there have been nearly 600 scholarships awarded. They also advised that the application process opens on January 1, 2017 and runs through March 15, 2017.
The presentation went on to explain that there is a shortage of people in the technical workforce and this program aims to bring more of that workforce back to the state.
